HDR Virtual Tours -Too much detail?
High Dynamic Range (HDR) Virtual Tours have been around for a while. No doubt there are some specialists out there that spend every working hour fine tuning every pixel to make sure the end result is totally perfect.
We have created quite a few sets of HDR Virtual Tours over the years and like to think we’re in the top tier of VR specialists. There are so many processes involved that you can come unstuck at any point.
We recently completed a full set of HDR Virtual Tours for a luxury Yacht builder based in Dubai. Our task was to create a fully interactive tour that can be accessed from PC browsers through to tablets and smartphones. Getting the right resolution balance across all of these platforms requires an understanding of a multitude of software, image enhancement and a heap of patience.
We shoot 9 exposures for each angle, this means 36 shots per scene. As you can imagine the files soon stack up and your processing load increases too.
I’m not going to go into every step of the overall process because I’d have not finger prints left. I will say that the detail is not only in the final image but the number of process instructions you need to apply to create the end result.
The Gulf Craft M63 Virtual Tour is a good example of what I’m talking about.
You might want to check out “Montecastello” too.
And about time too!
We’re about to go live with our new Website and about time too. It’s been a while in the making and talk about bus-mans holiday! Trying to make time to create content, stories and other elements for your own Website is a difficult task at the best of times without working around other projects that your customers have commissioned you to deliver.
There are a lot of pages and content aimed at describing our services and how we go about our business. The projects pages are probably the most informative and we’ve also added some retro projects dating back from the early days of Digital Media!
Maybe now we can get cracking with some of the tools we want to develop and start promoting the existing products we already have.
